Peacock

This was a fun/scary quilt to make.
Not cotton, but satin.
Not batting, but flannel.

Not batting, but flannel.
Satin is slippery, many pins needed to hold it in place while sewing,
I hope the wonderful person who commissioned it is
please with how it turned out.

I am.

Little Sailor Blue
A quilt made for a good friend, in record time. I've always wanted to make a sailboat quilt, a little mental calculations, and this cutie is what happened.

Glass Beads
When I started this quilt, I had no idea how it was going to look finished. I had a large bag of scraps, a lot of time, no quilts on order, and I wanted to keep my hands busy. Lots of us are like that, having to keep hands busy.
So I got to work: mixing and matching, coordinating, contrasting, texture, theme, density of color, shades.
And what I ended up with reminded me of beads my aunt and uncle brought back from Morocco 45 years ago. They were called Goulimine beads, I didn't know they were actually made in Europe, I'm sure Aunty and Unk didn't either. I still have them, and cherish them.
So when this quilt was nearing completion, I realized it reminded me of the beautiful beads.
And thus, Glass Beads was born, and finished.

Time for a theraputic scrap quilt.
I love mixing colors, and matching them,
straight lines aren't important.
Adding a line of beading here and there makes for
interesting color, texture, sparkle.
Many more scrap blocks to follow, with a quilt by and by.

Shhh! It's going to be a chuppah, it's a surprise!
The bride doesn't know it yet, but she's going to be married
under a traditional Jewish Wedding Chuppah.
under a traditional Jewish Wedding Chuppah.
Chomples, the wonderdog, as ring bearer.
Quick! Tie it before they get back from their honeymoon!
Fin
I hope they had a fun and relaxing honeymoon.

Repost of two old friends.
Squid chair: 180 silk rosettes, 8 arms, many coat hanger,
and a typical lab chair just begging for rebirth.
Again, a typical office chair, leopard print faux fur, chrome yellow trim, and real natural-dropped white tail dear antlers painted, attached.
