Mother's Day
I spent it the way I wanted to. Newspapers, coffee, danish, Mike, Morty, Mitzi, Krista Tippet.
Wonderful church service, and a Ted's steamed cheeseburger in the back for lunch.
Then I came in and finished the top to the Holiday Bazaar Trinity Quilt. Yeah!

Fabrics are cut into strips, and the assembly of the blocks begins.

It's been a while
since something has been posted. Little projects have been taking too much of my time lately, but I did manage to layer my next queen sized quilt.
I call it "Creation Theory meets Evolution".

Bubbles!

The soothing blues and greens of this quilt ease the Summer heat. The bubbles in the border contrast and soften the hard edged blocks in the center. The quilted circles tie the quilt together. Quilt is %100 cotton, polyester batted, hand appliqued, machine pieced center, hand quilted. Bunny comes out to play. Quilt is 40 x 52 inches, and was donated to my church for use as a fund raiser at the Holiday Bazaar. (Click on quilt to enlarge picture)

Adam's Quilt

Adam is a boy with Juvenile Diabetes. He is almost seven years old and has had to deal with this disease for over a year now. This quilt was designed to show what Adam's favorite things are, and will be displayed this week in Orlando, Florida at the Children with Diabetes conference. It will then go on display in Washington, DC, where it will be displayed each year to raise awareness about this illness.

Socks are velour, lined, and silver braid or long faux fur decorated. Size is 11 inches long, 5.5 inches wide. They have loops for hanging, and are available for $25 each.

Double Irish Horse Chain

This quilt was a little more difficult, the fabric was very specifically chosen. It had to be cut exactly, with the horse groupings all going in correct position, centered in each of the fields of the quilt. Instead of a bunny in the pocket, there is a horse with crocheted tail, mane, and hooves. Quilt is sold

Another view of the Queen Size quilt
This is a closer view of the queen-sized quilt, more detail in the center spiderwebs. You can see the .5 inch strips gradation in color that makes it look almost like a kaleidoscope.

American Bunny

This is a closeup of one of my most popular quilts, American Bunny. The front and back are 100% cotton, the batting is polyester. The bunnies come out of their pockets to be cuddled and loved, and are machine washable and dryable for those times when they are loved a bit too much. The colors can be alternated to make it more blue, red, or white. Size is approximately 45" square. They are available for $125.

Queen size, one step at a time.

I started this quilt, the center spiderwebs, and then put it down for 12 years. Picked it up again, and finished it, using 4 of the 12 year old webs for the corners.
Quilt is a gift.

Detail of Starfish Quilt (2)
I wanted a lobster scavenging along the bottom, but it couldn't be a Maine lobster. I had to go through page after page of images on the google to find this little guy, he's one of the only living things I've ever put eyes on.
Quilt is sold.
