Cotton, polyester batting.
I wanted to make a quilt highlighting the ocean, and life underwater. The quilt simmered in the back of my mind for a while, sometimes in view, sometimes hiding. Then one day it said
"You know, the water doesn't have to be blue. The fish don't have to be green. Stop thinking that way."
I got home from my walk and dove into the fabric, pulling out color after color after color.
The fabric came from a wicker sofa and chair bought at a Habitat for Humanity Restore Store, cushions needing to be recovered. But the baby boy loved the fabric so much. I vowed to make something for him that would bring a smile to his face.
